siesta

I don't recall being taught to "siesta" by my parents or my paternal grandparents.

It never became a practice for me growing up because it was never imposed.  Filipinos then (maybe until now) believed that afternoon naps contributes to a growth spurt  (or at least that's what they tell kids in order to make them sleep). Hopefully now we know it's not true.

After watching the TV adaptation of Philippa Gregory's Spanish Princess, I also found out that a "siesta" is a Spanish thing and they may also influenced the Filipinos during the colonisation period.

This blog is really not about sharing what ai know about afternoon napping.  I got sleepy yesterday and I napped and still got sleep at around 7pm.

That's what I really want to say.

carpe diem... ü
